Overview
We supplied, installed and later dismantled an independent scaffold at a residential block in Kent’s Hill, Milton Keynes. The scaffold was required to provide safe access for solar installation works alongside gutter maintenance across the full length of the building.
Client Requirement
The client required a continuous access scaffold that would allow operatives to work safely along the full roofline.
Key requirements included:
- Safe working platforms at height for solar installation
- Access to guttering along the full elevation
- A stable structure suitable for extended use
Given the length of the building, the scaffold needed to provide consistent access across the entire working area.
Our Solution
We installed an independent scaffold approximately 50 metres in length and 6.5 metres in height, providing full coverage along the elevation.
The scaffold was designed to:
- Offer continuous boarded lifts for safe movement along the structure
- Provide reliable access to both roof level and guttering
- Maintain stability across the full length of the build
The independent design allowed the scaffold to be fully self-supporting, making it suitable for the layout and ground conditions on site.
Challenges on Site
The main challenge on this project was the length of the scaffold and maintaining stability across the full 50 metre run.
Ground conditions and surrounding landscaping also required careful consideration when setting out the scaffold, ensuring all standards were properly supported and aligned.
Our team ensured consistent spacing and secure footing throughout the structure to maintain safety and performance.
Safety & Compliance
All works were carried out by CISRS-qualified operatives in line with current safety standards.
The scaffold was erected using established best practices, with appropriate bracing, boarding and edge protection in place. It was fully inspected prior to handover to ensure it was safe for use throughout the project.
Outcome
The completed scaffold provided safe, reliable access for both solar installation and gutter works across the full length of the building.
The project was delivered on time, allowing works to proceed efficiently without access-related delays.
